9月11日下午，李师长在工作时忽然昏迷倒地昏迷不醒，被送到武汉大学中南医院急救中心急救。一男一女两名医护职员将李师长的短裤和T恤别离用铰剪剪断，并把从身上扯下的衣物扔到急救室角落停止急救，因急救实时，当晚情况好转离开生命危险。
17日，李师长的父亲找到医院，称医生急救时不单把儿子的衣裤剪坏了，还把短裤里的500元现金、身份证、银行卡、数据线等财物弄丢了，需补偿1500元的损失费，还了报警。
最初，在差人的调解下，医院初步答应补偿1000元
